01 / CONTEXT AND GOAL
Distinctive creations. People with stories.
The platform held listings, profiles, orders and purchased package entitlements tied to MyListing and multiple plugins. The task was to build a new public site and bespoke WordPress administration, preserve data and publishing rules, and give Bulgarian makers a clearer, more personal presentation.
We developed a separate server-rendered interface and one dedicated WordPress plugin for listings, makers, packages, orders and enquiries. MyListing, WooCommerce and legacy dependencies were removed from the live system. Public content updates automatically from administration, while Stripe handles package payments through the new plugin.
An artistic direction built around real creations
The name and brand blue were retained and paired with warm paper-like backgrounds, hand-drawn SVG elements and real listing photographs. The opening screen presents makers through a composition of paper-edged images. Thread-like lines, unfolding photographs and smooth colour transitions follow scrolling in both directions, including on mobile.
Migration preserving the platform’s history
The archive of 1,101 listings was migrated with its authors, URLs, statuses and images. Profiles, account access, order history and purchased package entitlements were preserved. Expired listings remained expired, while newsletter subscriptions and unsubscribe functionality were transferred to the new system.
A catalogue with many ways to discover
The homepage provides access to all 28 product types and 267 categories and subcategories. The catalogue includes search, filters and sorting, while listings show real prices, photographs and maker details. Galleries offer an enlarged view, and visitors can save favourites and send enquiries.
Public profiles and a personal workspace
Each maker has a public page with their listings. The personal account manages images, drafts, publishing, editing, renewals, packages, orders, favourites and enquiries. Registration, login, password recovery, listing ownership checks and quota validation during publishing are included.
Packages and Stripe payments
The platform sells packages for publishing and promoting listings. Stripe Checkout is integrated into the bespoke plugin without WooCommerce. Paid entitlements activate after Stripe confirmation, with safeguards against duplicate processing. Purchase and delivery of the actual creations are arranged directly between buyer and maker.
Bespoke WordPress administration
Dedicated content types manage listings, makers, packages, orders, entitlements, pages and enquiries. Administration remains in WordPress, while the public site reads only content intended for publication. Changes refresh public data automatically; private accounts and payment operations are handled separately from public caching.
Lighter images and search-readable content
Tens of thousands of images were processed into WebP and confirmed unused files were removed. Active listings received responsive image sizes, and new uploads are optimised automatically. Locally hosted Cyrillic fonts, deferred gallery loading, metadata, a sitemap and legacy URL redirects complete the implementation. Server-rendered pages provide the main content directly in HTML.
