## What AI search preparation means

Preparing for AI search starts with accessible and useful pages, clear answers, and verifiable information about the business. SEO, AEO, and GEO overlap, but AI citations and visits should be measured separately. Neither schema nor a file by itself guarantees a recommendation.

[Google’s official guide to generative features](https://developers.google.com/search/docs/fundamentals/ai-optimization-guide) lists the main SEO practices. No special AI schema, llms.txt, or content reformatting into short fragments is required just because of the system itself.

## Check access and the real content

Important pages should return the correct status and display the main information. Check robots.txt, noindex, canonical, internal links, and the mobile version. For a JavaScript site, compare the initial HTML with what a person sees.

Distinguish search bots from training bots. In [OpenAI’s documentation](https://developers.openai.com/api/docs/bots) OAI-SearchBot and GPTBot have different roles. Permission for one does not promise inclusion in answers. A public User-Agent alone does not prove a bot’s identity.

## Give an answer that can be verified

Describe who the service is for, what it includes, how the price and timeline are set, and what the client needs to prepare. Show a real example and distinguish ready-made features from possible add-ons. A specific description is more useful than a promise of universal results.

Use a short opening answer, appropriate headings, lists, and tables when they help the reader. This improves orientation; it is not a special technical format that guarantees AI citation. Facts in the text, metadata, and schema should match.

## Connect claims with evidence

Name the author and the responsible business. Cite primary sources for external facts and real projects for your own experience. An edit date means a review was performed, not that the year was automatically changed. Do not present someone else’s statistics as measured results from your project.

Structured data can describe Organization, Person, Service, BlogPosting, and other applicable entities. Do not add nonexistent ratings, prices, or results. Google ended FAQ rich results in May 2026; valid FAQPage schema is not a promise of such a result. See [the official changes in the Search documentation](https://developers.google.com/search/updates).

## Measure presence with a clear methodology

Prepare questions in the audience’s language: choice of provider, comparison, price, and a specific problem. Record the system, date, wording, mentioned companies, and exact cited URLs. Use independent sessions and repetitions without hinting at the brand in advance.

An AI answer is a snapshot of a specific moment. There is no stable “position” like in a standard report. Separately track visits from recognizable AI sources and the quality of inquiries. Lack of access to a report does not mean zero visibility.

## Prioritize the work

First remove obstacles to access and inquiry submissions. Then improve the pages for your core services and internal links. Develop content that answers real decision-making questions instead of creating many similar pages for the same term.

For technical issues, see [technical site audit and optimization](https://88lab.eu/en/optimization-for-speed/). For the broader process, use [the SEO optimization guide](https://88lab.eu/en/seo-optimization-guide/). Record changes and compare after enough time for crawling and monitoring.
